Top 16 100% SUV, Toyota Yaris Cross up to #3 – Best Selling Cars Blog

The Toyota Yaris Cross is the third most popular vehicle in Cyprus in July.

Based on data shared with us by our local partners SEMO Cyprus and INNOSOFT, new car sales in Cyprus progress 5.7% year-on-year in July to 1,438 units, however the year-to-date tally remains in negative territory at -4.8% to 9,658. Kia (-38%) stays in the brands lead despite a devastating YoY loss with 12.7% share vs. 16.9% so far this year. On the contrary Toyota (+43.5%) surges ahead to 11.5% of the market vs. 9% YTD. The next four carmakers underperform with YoY drops, with Volkswagen (-32.8%) hit the hardest. In contrast Renault (+137%), Dacia (+130%), Ford (+113.8%) and Mercedes (+34.1%) all post fantastic gains in the remainder of the Top 10.

Over in the models charts, the Kia Sportage (-8.7%) is up four spots on last month to snap the pole position for the third time this year after January and February. The Hyundai Tucson (-30.9%) stays in second place ahead of the Toyota Yaris Cross (+96.6%) and Nissan Qashqai (+30.2%) both in outstanding shape. Leader last month and year-to-date, the Kia Stonic (-66.9%) is down to #5. The Toyota C-HR (+57.1%) also shines at #6 with 3.1% share vs. 2.3% year-to-date, but the best performers in the Top 10 are the Hyundai Kona (+500%), Dacia Duster (+312.5%) and Renault Arkana (+200%). Spectacularly, the Top 16 is entirely composed of SUVs. The Porsche Macan cracks the YTD Top 30 at #29.
